The instrument of appointment ceremony took place solemnly at the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi, conferred by the Director General of the Consular Department, Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Mr. Doan Hoang Minh, with the presence from the Slovenian side of Ms. Renata Cvelbar Bek, Ambassador, Secretary-General of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and Ms. Alenka Suhadolnik - Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Vietnam, along with high-level representatives of the two countries, numerous guests who are leaders of agencies, departments, sectors, businesses and press agencies.
This special event not only marked a significant milestone in the friendly relations between the two nations, but also opened a new and promising chapter in bilateral cooperation across many fields. More particularly, Shark Minh Beta is also the youngest Vietnamese Honorary Consul at the present time. His appointment to this role by Slovenia demonstrates this nation's trust and expectation in the young generation of Vietnam.

Commemorating 30 Years of Friendly Relations and Cooperation between Vietnam and Slovenia
Since officially establishing diplomatic relations on June 7, 1994, Vietnam and Slovenia have continuously fostered friendly relations and cooperation in many fields. The two countries have always coordinated closely and supported each other at international forums. Slovenia is currently Vietnam's leading important economic partner in the Balkan region, and Vietnam has become Slovenia's major trading partner in ASEAN.
The achievements attained over the past 30 years are clear evidence of the positive development of bilateral relations. The two sides have been actively promoting cooperation in the key areas of politics - diplomacy, trade - investment, culture - tourism, education and training.
At the event, in his capacity as Honorary Consul, Shark Minh Beta will have an important mission in promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Slovenia. He shared: "I commit to trying my best to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two countries in all fields, especially in the fields of high technology, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture and tourism. I believe that with close cooperation between the Consulate of the Republic of Slovenia, the business communities and people of the two countries, Vietnam and Slovenia will together build new beginnings for the next 30-year milestone of diplomatic relations, towards prosperous, united and sharing bilateral development."
Special Photo Exhibition Commemorating 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations
On this occasion, the Consulate of Slovenia in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with Beta Group and Van Lang University, co-organized a special photo exhibition themed "Plečnik's Ljubljana" - UNESCO Intangible Heritages of Slovenia. The exhibition displays unique works of art, introducing the natural beauty, diverse culture and UNESCO intangible cultural heritages of Slovenia.
The photos feature the works of architect Plečnik - an outstanding figure of Slovenia and a source of inspiration for contemporary architecture worldwide. The exhibition presents a fascinating combination of paintings, architectural models and historical stories, the ancient beauty with moments, and beautiful natural landscapes of this country through the extraordinary creative journey from the perspective of the talented architect. His works, recognized by UNESCO as “human-centered urban design”… will help us learn about a gentle, peaceful and modern Slovenia.
The exhibition takes place from June 19th at Van Lang University, promising to bring the public interesting experiences and a deeper understanding of beautiful Slovenia, contributing to enhancing understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries, especially among the younger generation.
