The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mr. Tran Phuoc Anh (Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs), Ms. Renata Cvelbar Bek - Secretary-General of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and Ms. Alenka Suhadolnik - Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Vietnam, and Mr. Bui Quang Minh - Chairman of Beta Group, the multi-talented businessman who was recently appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia in Vietnam. He is the youngest Vietnamese Honorary Consul to date. He organized the inauguration of the Slovenian Consulate office in Ho Chi Minh City immediately after his appointment.
Shark Minh Beta will serve a 5-year term as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia. This is not only an honor for Shark Minh Beta but also a source of pride for the Vietnamese startup community. He is a sharp investor and an influential startup inspirational figure for young people through his business activities as well as his very positive, relatable, and practical life philosophies.
At the ceremony, Mr. Bui Quang Minh shared his impressions of the country and people of Slovenia, and affirmed his commitment to contributing to the development of cooperative relations between the two countries in his capacity as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia. He stated: “As a businessman operating in many fields, I will actively seek and connect investment and business opportunities between Vietnamese and Slovenian enterprises, focusing on technology, renewable energy, agriculture, entertainment, healthcare, education, and tourism. Moreover, with the soul of an artist, I will support cultural and sports exchange activities to enhance understanding and friendship between our two peoples.”
He further emphasized that, through close cooperation between the Consulate General, the business community, governments, and people of both countries, we will open a new chapter of bilateral development, cooperation, prosperity, solidarity, and sharing.
Secretary-General of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Ms. Renata Cvelbar Bek, shared at the inauguration ceremony that over the past three decades, the diplomatic relationship between Slovenia and Vietnam has remained strong in both economic and political fields. “We recognize Vietnam as the most impressively growing economy in Asia in recent years, and one of the most attractive investment destinations globally. I am confident that Honorary Consul Bui Quang Minh will assist us in seeking future cooperation opportunities and connecting the two cultures and economies,” Ms. Renata Cvelbar Bek affirmed.
Bui Quang Minh, also known as Minh Beta and the founder of Beta Group, established a multi-industry ecosystem, with Beta Cinemas being the most prominent part. Beta Group also operates in many other business areas such as film distribution (Beta Distribution), film production (Beta Production), real estate technology (APlus Home), education (Crimson Business Institute), healthcare (Beta Healthcare), and international business investment activities. He is also one of the "Sharks" of Shark Tank Vietnam Season 6 in 2023. He graduated with First Class Honors from the University of Sydney (Australia), and was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and earned an MBA from Harvard University.
