Over its 10-year journey of establishment and growth, Beta Group has solidified its position as one of the pioneering entertainment conglomerates in Vietnam. From humble beginnings, Beta Group has experienced impressive growth with its cinema chain system, achievements in franchising and film production, and international collaborations.

The Beta Cinemas cinema chain, established in 2014, now boasts 21 locations nationwide. Characterized by a youthful and dynamic style, it leads the mass market by offering good quality at reasonable ticket prices.
In June 2020, Beta Cinemas finalized a capital contribution agreement worth USD 8 million from Japanese investment fund Daiwa Pi Partners, achieving a company valuation of VND 1,000 billion. Prior to this, Beta Cinemas had successfully raised capital twice from foreign investment funds: Vietnam Investment Group (a US investment fund) and Blue HK Financial Group (Hong Kong). Successfully raising capital even amidst the pandemic, Beta Cinemas also pioneered the first cinema franchising business model in Vietnam. In 2021, the brand signed franchising contracts for 2 cinema locations in Phu Quoc and Ho Tram, following a series of 3 previously successful franchised cinemas.

As the leading cinema chain in the mid-range market segment and the first chain to perfect a brand franchising policy, Beta Cinemas not only provides continuous consulting support throughout the setup and operation phases, but also facilitates easier access for investors to banks and financial institutions, thereby reducing pressure on capital sources. Beta Cinemas offers up to 3 franchise packages for investors to choose an investment level suitable to their needs: Beta Lite, Beta Standard, Beta Premium.

According to Mr. Minh Beta - Founder & CEO of the Beta Cinemas chain, this franchising model will be readily accepted by the market because: “Beta Cinemas is a cinema model with low investment and reasonable ticket prices, targeting students and people with average incomes. This model is optimized for operations and costs, while still ensuring core service quality standards and cinematic experiences. When unforeseen events such as natural disasters or epidemics occur, these models will have lower losses and a higher chance of 'survival'."

Recognizing the potential of the domestic film market, Beta Media further developed Beta Productions Film Production Studio. Many films have not only achieved significant commercial success but have also been positively received by critics and the public. These works are not only screened at Beta Cinemas nationwide but also appear on reputable television channels, contributing to enhancing brand value and affirming Beta Group's position in the Vietnamese entertainment industry.
Building on its success and expanding into the international market, Beta Productions aims to heavily invest in producing local content in the near future, promising to release quality Vietnamese films in the time ahead.

On July 31, 2024, Beta Media (Vietnam) and Aeon Entertainment (Japan) officially announced a joint venture company in Vietnam. This joint venture focuses on developing, managing, and operating a high-end cinema chain; investing in film production and distributing Vietnamese, Japanese, and international films in the Vietnamese market. The announcement event of this joint venture is a significant milestone in the overall development of Vietnamese cinema, as well as economic cooperation between Japan and Vietnam. The announcement ceremony attracted the participation of press agencies, units, and individuals operating in the film and entertainment industry.
